Why do you use promotional products in your marketing initiatives? Brand awareness? Employee relations? Community outreach? There are dozens of reasons to incorporate swag into campaigns, and all of them have one thing in common—making a favorable impression with someone who is important to you.
Do you know which promotion products leave your target audience with the most favorable opinion of your brand? We do, thanks to some research via the Advertising Specialty Institute (ASI).
As a part of its 2016 Global Advertising Specialties Impressions Study, respondents were asked which promotional products gave the most favorable impression of the advertiser. Here’s what they said:
5. Performance Wear
With the rise in athleisure—casual clothing designed to be worn for both exercising and for general use—it’s no surprise that performance wear is on the list. According to this Forbes article, athleisure appeals to a wide variety of consumers because it is applicable for almost every situation: going to the gym, grabbing coffee or brunch with friends, running errands and even working in the office.
Furthermore, Katie Smith at EDITED notes that, “Consumers are prioritizing health and well-being. We may not be exercising more, but we certainly have an increased understanding of wellness. This, combined with a relaxed dress code in the office, has allowed athleisure to penetrate a large portion of the apparel market.”
The bottom line: Give promotional performance wear and your tribe will love you.
4. Writing Instruments
Whether it’s pens, pencils, highlighters or a combo of these, writing instruments are one of the most popular promotional products. And with good reason. They’re used every day in every business. In fact, 76% of people surveyed by PPAI consider writing instruments an important part of their daily personal activities. Plus, more than 73% keep a writing instrument with them at all times. At a fraction of a cent ($0.000436), writing instruments have one of the most economical cost-per-impression ratios of any promotional products.
